I received an email a few days ago from one of our contacts in Ukraine. She send out prayer letters to her supporters keeping them up to date on what’s going on in the ministry in Krasnoarmeysk. Yeah, I can’t really pronounce that name either, but Marina is a woman who along with her friend Vika spend their days teaching English clubs and running bible studies and Sunday church services out of their flat (apartment). There are always people in and out of their place as they have created an environment that draws people in, knowing they have friends and fellowship, and that the door is always open when they need it.
“Praise the Lord; praise God our Savior! For each day He carries us in His arms.” (Ps. 68:19)
It’s so amazing to see how God is working in my life and in the lives of other people around. He shows again and again that He’s the only one Who is mighty to save and transform us. I had a great joy to meet Maxim last month. He is Olga’s husband. (Olga is a part of our church and she was baptized last summer.) It was so wonderful to hear how our Lord had set him free from the drugs addiction and made him a completely new person who has a grateful and loving heart for God. Maxim is at the rehab center in Kiev right now. He got baptized in August and he’s going back to Krasnoarmeysk next month.
We were blessed to have a team of 7 people from the US who are on the World Race Christian mission trip visiting 11 countries for 11 months. They were staying 2 weeks in Krasnoarmeysk and were a real encouragement to us. They helped us a lot with English club and Bible studies. We had a very good time of fellowship. We also hoped to do English club in some schools of our town. Sadly we didn’t get permission from the local authorities but our Lord opened the doors to other 2 schools in the area where we met many new people (mostly students). They were teaching English and geography classes and had a great chance to share their impressions and experience about the countries they had been to. It was very surprising for us that we also had freedom to tell students about God!
Please, pray for:
– those students we met to look for the Lord and for God to touch their hearts;
– the opportunities to keep in touch with them.
– God to bless the ministry of this American team in other 2 countries (Romania and Moldova) and their safe coming back home.
Our Bible studies are going well with God’s help. We started gathering twice a week and it helps us to get to know each other better and to grow together as the church. We praise our Lord for all those people He gives us and for all the lessons He teaches us through relationships with them.
Please, pray for us:
– to be more centered on Jesus and be more devoted to Him;
– to grow in knowing God and in love for each other;
Thank you very much for your care and your prayers!
God bless you,
Marina and Vika.
