A bridge: By day it is filled with families; men, women and children. It is filled with laughter and friends. By night, however, it is filled with women and the men seeking them. It is filled with sadness, pain, fear, and desperation for sexual gratification for the men and desperation for a better life for the women. I use the word women while some are as young as 16.

Why? Here in Baguio (bag-e-o) the business of prostituting yourself is a family responsibility. Your parents are unable to work, so they are housed and fed by the money earned. Your younger brother doesn’t have money for school; this is how you support him. You husband doesn’t have a job or a very good one; this is how you support your family. Yes, husband. Many of these women have boyfriends and husbands who don’t seem to mind as long as they get the money needed.

This month Team Radiance will be working with Crossover Ministries. We will come along side them to bring light and hope of a better life to these women.

Please pray for your sisters: Pray the God will bring them into the programs at Crossover and other ministries. Pray that these precious and beautiful women will begin to see themselves as God sees them; His precious daughter.

Please pray for the men: Pray that God will give them new eyes. Pray that they will see these women as more than an instrument for their own desires. Pray that honor and dignity will enter their hearts; that they won’t have the desire to violate them but to lift them up with respect.

God is going to do mighty things. Let’s see how much bigger we can pray this month. There is no roof on what the Lord is able to do, so let’s keep praying for bigger, mightier, and more powerful things to be done here in Baguio. Enough with the nice little prayers, let’s step out of our comfortable prayer molds we’ve been in and cry out to God louder than we have before. Let’s cry out and watch what our Mighty God can do with the faith-filled prayers of His people.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14
