Carol: This part of your kingdom’s not so good.
Max: why?
Carol: And on our way… I can show you your kingdom. This is all yours. You’re the owner of this world. Everything you see is yours. Oh, except that hole over there, that’s Ira’s. The tree’s yours, but the hole is Ira’s. But everything else is yours. Except for that rock over there, that’s not yours. That little rock next to the big rock. But everything else in the kingdom… except for that stick. That little stick right there, that’s not yours. I want you to be king forever, Max.
Well I have been wanting to experience wild things. For everyone wild looks different and a lot of people think going to third world countries is wild- which it is. As my heart longs for crazy adventures, and miracles, I just want to see things I have never seen and experienced in my Life. As I’m sitting here I am asking the lord and wondering why there isn’t more thrill and why my heart is wanting more… Elle why can’t you be content In what I have given you- I know you want more but there is so much more even in Kampong Thom your just missing it. Wild is anywhere- And everywhere you just have to seek it out!
On the race I live in a city where people eat dogs daily, so many crazy things happen. While crazy things happen- I know with Jesus great things always come and there is always crazy. As there is a day coming where we too will be with all the wild things and be with God-it just looks different daily.
“ In scripture the Spirit immediately drove him into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by And he was with the wild animals. “
The point Mark seems to be hinting at is that Jesus is a new kind of Adam, the new and best Man. Instead of a beautiful garden, the Man faces temptations in the wilderness, a wilderness created by Adam’s sin. And instead of kindly controlling over tame animals, Man is surrounded by wild animals. This sinful world into which Jesus enters to accomplish his mission is less like a beautiful garden and more like Jurassic Park.
Unlike Adam, the surroundings into which Jesus is put to live out human perfection are damaged by sin. Unlike Adam, Jesus faces a wild land and wild animals. While Adam was setup for success, Jesus had to go against this. God did what he had to do and died for the sin that happened under Adam in Genesis.
As Jesus displayed dying on the cross we are able to experience him daily. Those called to heal and witness the call to re-connect and re-turn and bring the good news that God is healing. Even now when we want the kingdom of God to be near. It is up to us to bring wild daily. Into this world. How exciting!
“Only at the edge of our lives where we find understanding of God are undone, can we understand bewilderment as occasioning another way of knowing. “
In what ways are we called to LIVE not just believe. I want to know the plan to do with my wild and precious life- well I already know that it’s solely to serve God and that is what I am doing daily.
As I sit in our holy home – something I have been learning is listening to and being still with god. Wow it’s so hard to sit and wait. Learning to listen to the glimpses of God. I have looked into the heart of God and there is so much wild in his heart. He has created me to live in this wild world- living on the other side of America miles away for what I am used to. As I suffer from living in the fallen world I’m experiencing brokenness and love at the same time here in Cambodia. Thx to him. His grace has been on the move all along roaming around so wild and so free. it was the untamed grace of God that jumped the bounds of time and space and considered a yet-to-be-created people in connection with his Son, and chose them in him Because of grace unmeasured, boundless, free, now our dead hearts beat and lifeless lungs breath daily. He fills us up and we get to cry ABBA, father. As we are in the midst of unbelief, sex trafficking, abuse, language barriers etc. We have so much sin- we have the wild grace of Jesus- that will not leave us in this passive sinful nature, but will flood into our lives- and give repentance and forgiveness. Be reminded nothing is ours and it’s all HIS! His grace has gone so wonderfully wild in this time.
cya later, Elle 🙂
