So in honor of my new family (and because Brandon started a trend), I am going to indulge you all in some interesting facts about me:

1. I am an avid reader. If I get started on a good book it is really hard for me to put it down. I have finished entire novels in one day and have also been known to get so engrossed in a book that I don’t realize when people are talking to me. Whoops.

2. I own two cats. A fluffy black one (Coco) and a tabby (Nala). They are my fur babies. Bear in mind though that I do not treat them like actual children. I am not a crazy cat lady (despite my family’s jokes).

3. I have a very large extended family on my dad’s side. 4 uncles, 3 aunts, 11 first cousins (16 if you include spouses), 15 second cousins (17 if you included spouses), and 4 third cousins.

4. I tried drawing a family tree for a visual but it was too complicated.

5. Believe it or not I am actually an introvert. I can go for long periods of time around people, but occasionally need my alone time.

6. I love me some card games and board games. Phase 10 is my jam.

7. I am a nerd. I love LOTR, Hobbit, Harry Potter, and comic book movies. I do not read comic books though.

8. I used to collect glass figurines but decided I really didn’t like having to dust them off all the time, so I sold most of them in a garage sale. I kept a select few.

9. Sweatpants are my favorite article of clothing. If I could live in them (and if it were socially acceptable), I would.

10. I have a black thumb, but can somehow keep orchids alive.

11. I am terrified of spiders. If there is a spider in the room I will be the first one sprinting out of there and to the opposite end of the house. I will take care of all rodents, snakes, and other bugs so long as you take care of the spiders. Deal?

12. I am a very expressive person (and sometimes I don’t realize when I’m doing it).

13. I originally pursued a degree in Psychology. However, I didn’t want to go to graduate school so I switched and majored in Criminal Justice (minored in Psychology).

14. My first mission trip was when I was 7-years old to an orphanage in the Baja of Mexico. My family still goes on missions trips down there (Rancho Santa Marta).

15. I lived in the parsonage house across the street from the church my dad pastored at for 12 years. We would literally roll out of bed, walk across the street, and sit up in the balcony.

16. Tigers and horses are my favorite animals. So maybe my favorite animal should be a Zebra?

17. I am not a picky eater and will eat whatever is put in front of me.

18. I played soccer, lacrosse, and volleyball.

19. I do not like watching sports, but I will gladly play them.

20. I used to have an aversion to avocados, but now I love them.

21. I love to sing. I sang in high school for choir and vocal jazz. Singing in the shower, singing in the car, anywhere. However, if you put me in front of people I freeze up.

22. I do my best to love everyone regardless of their life choices and beliefs. Jesus calls us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

23. I don’t sleep well if someone else is sharing a bed with me. However, I know this will change while on the race.

24. I talk in my sleep sometimes. And hallucinate.

25. I love a good challenge. So bring them on!

26. I typically eat my cereal dry and then have a glass of milk separate.

27. On the subject of cereal, I like to pick the marshmallows out of Lucky Charms and eat them last.

28. I LOVE Cheetos.

29. I sometimes have trouble expressing how I am feeling. So don’t be afraid to push me and encourage me to talk.

30. I do not have a smartphone. I have a flip phone.

31. I was engaged when I was 20 (if you want to know the story, don’t hesitate to ask).

32. I am transparent when it comes to my life story. Ask away.

33. I didn’t have a “real” youth group until I hit high school. Growing up the youth group was myself, my brother, and 2 other boys in the church. The majority of the congregation were elderly or young couples with babies.

34. I don’t like working out. So if I’m being lazy, push/pull me up and force me to do it. I may not like you at first, but I will get over it.

35. My top 2 love languages are quality time & physical touch. My lowest one is words of affirmation (if that is your love language I will do my best to give it).

36. My favorite color is neon green.

37. I love hymns.

38. I snapped my wrist clean in half several years ago and it never healed right. So if you look or feel my wrist you will notice it is misshapen. I call it my “wonky” wrist and occasionally creep my mother out by rubbing it on her arm or face.

39. Random dance parties are where it’s at. They take place frequently regardless of if I’m alone or not.

40. I’m don’t like sappy chick flicks… They physically pain me with their cheesiness.

41. I would LOVE to own a big dog someday. I think of punting footballs around little ones.

42. Family is very important to me. If you mess with them, I will hunt you down.

43. I don’t want a knight in shining armor.

44. I absolutely love being single right now. The only main man in my life is Jesus.

45. I want a large family some day.

46. Coffee is the bomb(dot)com! I used to be a barista and loved it.

47. I enjoy cooking and trying out recipes.

48. I make a mean tuna noodle casserole.

49. I’ve almost perfected the most amazing chai recipe from my favorite Indian restaurant.

50. I LOVE ethnic food. Probably more than “American” food.

If you guys want to know anything else don’t hesitate to ask! I am an open book. 🙂

Have a wonderful day!
