Our travel to Peru was a total of 32 hours which was split into 2 busses and a 5 hour layover.

I think this is a experience I need to share… so on November 9th at 11pm we said goodbye to our hosts Mabe and Fabi wabi and loaded on to a normal travel bus, nothing fancy. Let me just start this off with this: I fall asleep in cars on road trips really easily. As we left our house that we stayed in while we were in Ecuador, I was pretty emotional and just wanted to sleep (as 11 was way past my bedtime.) I curled up with my bus buddie Chooch, (Chase) put in my ear plugs and shut my eyes. After driving for a bit I thought the loud Spanish music would be turned off so we could sleep… well it didn’t. Even with ear plugs and Canadian Buff (haha) on, it was still blasting. About 3 am with no sleep we stopped so the bus could fill up with gas I asked Steven (squad leader) who was going up and down the isles to ask the bus driver to turn it down, and he did… hallelujah! So now you would think I would be able to sleep… wrong. These seats were really tiny and not the best for sleeping straight up and down, I dosed on and off for about an hour until I got fed up and went on the ground at our feet. And, let me tell yah, best idea I had all night. I got a good solid 2 hours of sleep. When we arrived at the bus station (which was like a mall, it was massive) we had a 5 hour layover till we got on another bus that would take us into Peru and then to Trujillo where we would be staying.

When we walked outside to catch the next bus we knew it was going to be double decker so the week leading up I was praying for the front top seat, and guess what seat I got! Level 2 seat 3, right up front… like wow thanks God!! I was like a little kid who’s never been on a bus before. Let me just explain this bougee bus, it was nicer than any airplane I had ever been on. The seats were massive, they all had leg rests, TV’s, and it came with 2 meals

LET ME SET THE MOOD FOR YOU

It’s sunset, you’re above all looking out this massive window, eating your chocolate cereal, listening to worship music, taking in all God beautiful creation, while driving through all theses little towns.

WHAT IT FELT LIKE

If you’ve ever been to Disneyland, there’s a ride called Soarin and basically it simulates you flying through breathtaking landscapes with 4D senses all around you. This was 10x better. Your up high bouncing around on the bus surrounded by 40 others who are all just as in awe as you are.

Anyway I slept like a baby that night (thanks sleeping pills) it was for sure one for the books. Update coming soon on our new ministry/ what were doing here in Peru!
