You know when you are downloading an app or updating your phone and the status bar slowly climbs until it reaches the 90s then it stops…

Well that is what it has felt like trying to fund raise from the field for these past 7 months. Those long periods of waiting and praying just to get 1% more. It takes a lot to be grateful for that 1%, especially when there is a larger percentage to raise. One of the hardest lessons I have had to learn on the race is never to get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less hard is to continue to trust that God provides in his time.

We recently did a bible study on Issac and Ishmael. Sometimes we cannot wait for God to provide, so we try to fulfill his plan ourselves. In doing so we birth an Ishmael. Throughout my fundraising I have come to find that there are so many times that I am not willing to continually trust that God is going to provide. Just like when that status bar moves slowly, just 1% at a time. It may be soooooooo slow, but the fact is that it is still GROWING! Even when we do make a mistake and birth an Ishmael God is willing to bring you back on the right track.

Little by little I have watched as my fundraising total grows. In the moment it seems like nothing is happening, but as I look back on the last 7 months I have raised more than $5,000 over here! This is not just my own accomplishment but yours too. If you, my supporters, had not supported me through prayers and donations I would have never been here.

I am so happy to say that I am down to $1,278! I am 92% funded and I am so grateful!
