Sometimes Ministry in India looks like…

We spent 2 months in India and it was PACKED full of awesome ministry! We got the really cool opportunity to travel to various areas of northeast India. I broke our ministry down into the different villages that we were in. We also had our Parent Vision Trip during this time so I included a section about what we were able to do with our families!!

Sielmat
– making cotton balls for a medical clinic
– Taking people to their stations in a medical clinic
– Being entertainment for people who have been waiting to see a doctor
– Playing games with our hosts daughter
– Attending Indian church
– Washing dishes and preparing meals for the squad
– Spontaneously singing an “action song” at a schools assembly
– Helping kindergartners learn to write letters and sing songs
– Playing volleyball tournament sponsored by our hosts
– Supporting the local youth that won a singing competition
– Attending graduation for the seminary students
– Talking to women selling clothes on the street
– Cleaning and prepping for our Parent Vision Trip
– Visiting a rehab center and playing ultimate frisbee with the men staying there

During PVT!
– Doing a sunrise service on prayer mountain
– Going to Easter services and giving spontaneous testimonies
– Entertaining kids at school with stories and songs
– Helping a local women move bricks into her house
– Painting nails at a local clinic
– Giving people free medical care
– Talking with catholic students at their field trip

Parbung
– teaching English to kids
– Going to the first annual ginger festival
– Playing soccer
– Letting kids cover you in dirt
– Teaching kids about shapes and other English words
– Performing unplanned skits about David and Goliath
– Singing the banana song on repeat
– Making conversation with the lady that walks her cows in the streets
– Sharing testimonies at church

Hmarkawlien
– Moving piles of dirt to fill up a driveway
– Singing and dancing with school children
– Talking with teachers
– Trying to learn a new language from the cleaning lady that didn’t know any english
– Washing dishes

It was a crazy couple of months there but I’m SO excited for what we have planned here at Maya Ministries in Pokhara, Nepal. We only have 2 weeks of ministry left until we head to final debrief!!
