The Lord is a weirdo. And sometimes He takes my thoughts to some really unique places. So hang on tight as I try and explain the crazy awesome ways that the Lord has been speaking to me.

The other day the Lord brought me to a place of thinking about how beautiful He is. Not just in a metaphorical way. Not just His beautiful heart. But how honestly, He’s probably handsome. I just started breaking down the different aspects of His facial features.

His eyes are probably the most deep, mesmerizing, enchanting eyes that you could imagine. They’re able to see so much. They’ve seen so much hurt and heartache, but they’ve also seen so much happiness and wonder. They’re creative enough to make the mountains and the oceans, but also the complexity of our bodies. He’s able to imagine beautiful sunrises and sunsets that illuminate the Earth. But most of all, I could see the care that they held. I could see the deep emotion that He carried and the ability to carry all of our emotions with us. I saw the rawness and the hurt that He experienced from watching His beautiful, marvelous creation turn their backs on Him. His eyes are full and gorgeous. Even with all of this realness going on, I knew that He could see me. He could see me as a person. And He looked at me like His wonderful, beautiful, dearly beloved daughter.

(Quote from my dear friend Bernadette Beacham: “He probably has the best eyebrows ever!”)

His ears are His softest feature. They’re a perfect size that fit His face so well. Like they’re made to be there. Like they’re a super important aspect of His face. Because I truly think that they are. There’s no one else that is able to hear you like the Lord is. There’s no one else who has ears that are constantly open. No one else who is able to just listen without interruption. Who isn’t thinking about other things but is able to focus their full attention on what you have to say. The Lord listens better than anyone I know, which is why I think that His ears are such a significant aspect of His face.

His mouth brings so much life. I imagine He has a smile that lights up the world. His mouth is soft, but His laugh is huge. Not only is His mouth physically beautiful, but it brings so much beauty to other things as well. His mouth speaks more life than anything else in this world. For that matter, He created the whole world with just a word from His mouth! If that doesn’t capture the beauty of this facial feature, then you’re missing something.

While I was pondering all of the physical beauty of the Lord, I realized that the most beautiful part about Him will never be visible. The most beautiful part of the Lord is His heart. It’s the fact that He loves so well. And out of that, comes the beauty of all of His facial features.

This might not make any sense at all, but sometimes the Lord leads me to weird places and I feel the need to share it with y’all. So here I am! Letting you know just how goofy the Lord chooses to be with me in my quiet times. Feel free to comment thoughts and questions below! I seriously love hearing from everyone!!
