In the past two and a half months, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to see God work and use my hands to love and care for people that I’ve barely met.
In Ireland, I cleaned toilets, passed out candy, and worked at a vacation bible school for children in the Northern Irish town of Coleraine.
In Romania, I chopped onions, harvested potatoes, cleaned carpets, and picked apples with gypsies, and fell in love with the people that Romania has deemed unlovable.
In Croatia, I have slept under four different roofs (with at least one more to go), learned to listen to the Lord’s voice, painted windows, cleaned a basement, cleaned a kindergarten classroom, shared my testimony, and learned the hidden lessons about love from a pair of Croatians who spoke no English.
I should clarify: those are not the two Croatians in question. They’re still awesome though.
I cannot wait to see what the rest of this year brings and the opportunities to love that are dropped in my lap. However, in order for that to happen, I need help.
Financially, I am in need of $1580 by November 1, and $5255 to fully fund the rest of the Race.
If this goal is not met, I will be asked to take time off the field to raise support, and there is the possibility that I will be sent home.
I want you to know that I could not be at this point without support, both financial and moral. Everyone who I’ve talked to about the Race has been so thrilled, and I want you all to know that the blogs that I write are for you. I want you to be a part of this experience. I want you to feel the love and compassion that I feel. I want you to feel like you are making a difference. Because you are. Hearing how things are back in the States makes me feel connected, and hearing that my blogs are being read lifts my spirits and encourages me to write more. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
If you are interested in helping the widows and orphans of the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa, and southeast Asia, please consider
supporting me financially. If you know of anyone who might be interested in learning more about my team and my World Race experience, please feel free to
refer them to my blog. And if you are interested in morally or prayerfully supporting me (because that is just as vital as financial support), feel free to leave comments on blogs or
contact me directly.
Honestly, I don’t think that words can fully express how grateful I am for every person who reads my words, and even more grateful for the people who are encouraged by those words. Know that every word I write is meant for you. Seriously.
