In the spirit of the World Race, logistics have changed again.  We’re not going to Pecs anymore.  Instead, we’re catching a train from Budapest to Osijek tomorrow morning, and after being there for a few weeks, we’ll head into Vinkovci, a town about 40 km south of Osijek on the western border of Croatia.  Kingdom Unity and Petra will both be in Croatia until October 31, but we’re also discussing the possibility of exploring other contacts and cities in Croatia once we’ve scouted out Osijek and Vinkovci.

For right now, Petra is making the most of our time in Budapest.  It’s my second time in the city, and I still call it my second favorite city in the world (after living in Florence for four months, it has to take the number one spot).  Seeing everyone else’s reactions to the city and its beauty made me love the city even more.

It’s funny how much can change in a short amount of time.  When I was here three Octobers ago, there were riots in the streets because the recently-elected prime minister had just admitted to lying throughout his campaign.  A few of the guys who were staying in our hostel told stories of how they were tear gassed and shot at with rubber bullets, even though they weren’t actually part of the protests.
Now the city is full of tourists and the political climate has calmed down, and the city is just as beautiful as I remember.  While we take some time to figure out accomodations and ministries in Croatia (and pray that something amazing happens), it’s been a welcome break to be able to be a tourist for a day and again see the city that I love so much.

Oh Chain Bridge, how I’ve missed you.
