And so it begins. We spent
the past three nights at a campsite outside Clondalkin, a town
outside Dublin. On the way from the airport, Beautiful Feet member
Nicole and I invented the Travel Game. It’s really fun when you’re
running on 3 hours of sleep and completely delirious. It’s also
probably really annoying to anyone around you who isn’t playing.
Rules: find something outside and name it out loud, but preface it by
the country where you are. For example, “Irish cows,” or, “Irish
Celtic Pigeon Racing Club.” That’s it. Points are arbitrarily
awarded based on speed, originality, and potential for irritation.
Petra has quickly caught on. It’s going to be really fun when we hit
Cambodia.

weeks in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, working at Causeway Coast
Vineyard Church, doing anything from helping out with the church’s
kids’ camp to going on neighborhood litter cleanups and local
business toilet cleanings. We’re staying at a local Christian
safehouse, and we are so unbelievably blessed to have beds, and
showers, and flushing toilets. I’ve never been so excited about the
presence of multiple outlets in a room before.

planning on taking advantage of this as much as possible, because
after Ireland, we’ll be imposing a lot more restrictions on our
living. No more tap water for us.
practiced a little more ATL in Clondalkin on Saturday, and it ended
in a pub with a bevy of drunken Irishmen. Their first words to us:
“We’re true Irish! We’ve been drinkin’ since
half-eleven…yesterday!” They invited Joel and Tim to sit down
for a Guinness with them, and the guys joined them and shared the
World Race and the mission of our trip with them. The guys also
learned an authentic Irish drinking song from them. And then we
shared it with the busload of K-Squaders en route to Coleraine today.
Trust me when I tell you it’s awesome.
