God is funny.  He gave us a day off today that took us to an amazing
waterfall and a swimming area on a whitewater river.  This after he
placed serious restrictions on my computer yesterday.

The prong on my computer charger that goes into the jack snapped
yesterday.  We tried supergluing it back together, which worked
sporadically before it ceased to supply power.  To make matters even
more interesting, when the computer isn’t plugged in, it shuts down
completely.  So going cordless isn’t an option either.

Fortunately, I don’t have anything critically important on my hard
drive that isn’t already on my external, so we’re in okay shape, and
Joe has the same computer, and he’s graciously allowed me to ask to
borrow his charger when necessary (whether or not he’ll say yes is
another matter entirely).  But it’s hard for me to ask for help or to
be in need.  Which brings me back to my point of God being involved in
this.

Being a part of a team means relying on other people for anything and
everything.  And now this includes computer usage.  Ultimately, I don’t
really need the computer for anything other than blogging, skype, and
team finances (that’s the big one), but it is still extremely difficult
for me to ask for favors.  I value my independence and take pride in being able to do things myself.  It’s hard for me to ask for anything,
really.  I don’t really even ask for Christmas presents.  Ask my
mother.  It drives her crazy.

Well, apparently it’s time I learn to be okay with asking for help.
Which will probably lead me to more support-raising blogs in the next
few weeks as the next deadline at the end of the month approaches.  But
that’s a blog for another day.

Tomorrow we hit the markets again to sing and pray and preach some more in Eldoret.  Keep us in your prayers, especially for our digestive tracts.  Some of us are having some difficulty adjusting to the new and different meal options.  But the mangoes are delicious.
