I’m Elizabeth Bacon, call me Liz. (yep, the last name is bacon)
In 2017 I went on The World Race (Fusion Route), and now I will be going back on the mission field as a leader for Expedition Route. My four countries will be: Australia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, & India!
I was born and raised in Nashville, TN. My roots run deep there, constantly inspired by its creativity.
Now I reside in Birmingham, AL. This city fosters so much growth in me, I love the people and community.
I’m a red head. (SPF 100, always.)
I adore: cold weather, my savior, the great outdoors, vulnerability, live music, thrifting, social justice, nicknames, truth, breakfast foods, dancin’, curiosity, coffee shops, painting, karaoke, anything vintage, and capturing authentic moments.
By trade, I am a photographer and artist, but at the core of that is conveying a message and storytelling. I desire to use my gifts to further The Gospel. I want to instill dignity, value each human being, inspire, create beauty, and empower people.
But this is not about me. It’s about Jesus.
A few years ago, the Lord transformed my life and burdened my heart for the Unreached and the urgency of the gospel going to the ends of the earth. (Over 2 billion people in the world today are classified as unreached—which means more than “unsaved” but that the gospel is simply not accessible to them.) It weighs on me deeply knowing that there are people that have never heard The Good News, and it is our great joy and responsibility to make Christ’s glory known, no matter the cost!
Furthermore, I crave learning from other people-groups, backgrounds, cultures, races, ages, etc. The World Race will be a life-shaping experience and a great way to discover more about the mission field. I believe this is the “next best step” to navigate what the Lord is calling me to do long-term. I desire this time to grow intimately with my savior, get out of my comfort zone, live minimally (out of a backpack for a year!), serve people, experience miracles, meet some adventurous teammates, and live out the great commission:
Jesus commands, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
