Today is an exceptionally epic day.
1. My parents got married 35 years ago today. I suppose I have always had a little bit of an attachment to 11:11. When the clock strikes 11:11 my parents (often to the feigned disgust of me and my brothers) openly show their affection to each other through a kiss, a hug, or a phone call. I am so thankful for their example of Christian marriage and partnership.
2. It’s Veteran’s Day. Thank you to those who have chosen lives of sacrifice and service to this country. I am sure that as I experience more of the world in this coming year I will be continually reminded of the blessings found in America. Thank you for defending our freedom to worship and share the love of Christ with those around in such a public and open manner.
3. Today is World Race Day (11/11, #11n11, 11 countries in 11 months…). I’ve been thinking about what that means and how I want to respond. At first I kind of felt like it was a cheesy way to continue to promote fundraising. I hesitated to post anything about it. I felt a little bit weird when I saw so many friends and racers posting last night. So, I finally stopped basing my response on what I saw other people doing and how I thought friends would react and talked to Jesus about it. I was reminded that this was not my idea. The World Race, the support-raising, the call to go love people – not mine. His. He is a God of surprises and celebration and He delights in the joy of His children. This is something to celebrate.
I’m not sure what that looks like. It’s obvious to see something that you have designed yourself, but it’s so much better to follow the blueprints of a master artisan. In the remainder of this post I am going to give a few way that you can partner with me as I celebrate this calling. I am asking that you ask God to show you what that looks like!

– Continue to lift my sQuad and I up in prayer! We are so excited and anticipating the Lord to move in incredible ways this year.
