For those of you who don’t know, I ventured off to the country of Kenya through Adventure in Missions (AIM) Real Life Program earlier this year. I was there for the three months of Febuary, March and April and worked in many ministries from the hospital, schools, local evangelism, and with the Internally Displaced People.
The Internally Displaced People are people that cover the entire globe without a place to call home. Unlike refugees who have fled their country lines so they receive funding from the U.N., the I.D.P remain in their country and it is up to their government to take care of them.
Kenya has consistently topped the charts when it comes to corruption. With endless bribes of government officials, police officers and many more in higher positions it has led to this statistic. 90% of Kenya makes under a dollar a day, the other 10%, well they are filthy rich. Consumed in a materialistic world and blind to the brothers and sisters that suffer around them, it is a stretch for me to find a hint optimism inside and to put hope in Kenyas government to help the 120,000 I.D.P. men, women, and children still displaced and scattered today.
In 2007 after incumbent President Kibaki was elected for another term, riots broke out for 60 days between the 41 tribes of Kenya. (Picture if the U.S. has 41 political parties, we would be a mess too!) The riots left thousands dead, abandoned, alone, without family, hungry and without a home. Over 600,000 were originally displaced after the riots and up to this very day many still remain in tents. Not your everyday R.E.I. tent but tents with holes where water leaks in, where mosquitos manifest themselves, with no padding on the ground but solid rock.
But it is on THE Solid Rock, our Almighty and Powerful God, that He laid the most amazing vision on my heart along with three of my other teammates Jenna Ghizas, Kelli Miller, & Logan Pace to return and simply, DO SOMETHING.
A vision for discipleship, a vision for victory in Jesus’ name, a vision for transformation, a vision for new beginnings, a vision for love, a vision for the least of these that barely squander up a dollar A WEEK for their families. You can read more about our vision at our website,campvision.weebly.com. It is still under some serious construction but its a good place to direct people with questions. Also feel free to ask me as well.
So where does this journey begin? It begins here with AIM! As the four of us returned home with this vision we expected it to be a long hard journey, yet we know it still will be, the Lord has clearly prepared the way for us to come onto staff with AIM as apprentices to jump-start and mobilize this vision with their guidance, contacts and resources. So this late October I will be venturing from sunny San Diego all the way to the southern bell land of Gainesville Georgia for a 6 month apprenticeship. Yes, Y’ALL I’m going.
As I transition into living a life completely sold-out for Jesus in full-time missions, it’s still important for me to remember those who, like John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus, have done the same and gone before me. I want to thank everyone who has supported me and prayed for me. Those who have brought me back to the foot of the cross on a consistent basis. Thanks to all of you who have brought me back to TRUTH. Thank You. I love you and still look forward to continuing to do life with you.

I ask that you be in prayer about this vision that was given to me by the Lord. That His will, His wants, and His ambitions become clear to myself and my team and we chase them with full hearts. I also ask that you pray about supporting me over these next 6th months, my monthly goal is $1500 a month and at least $3000 in my account by October 26th. With a God-sized dream and vision I know and trust in Him fully, that He will provide.
If the Lord is saying YES! Right now, there is a “support me” tab on the left hand side where you can set up monthly payments for the 6th months!
