Our last night of ministry was bitter sweet. Bitter because we were leaving a place we’ve called home and friends we’ve made and spent time with. Sweet because God has allowed us to live life with people we never would have never met. God allowed for friendships to grow in such a short amount of time. Love seeing the girls when I enter the bar but this night was filled with even more joy and gratitude. We didn’t even fully sit down when Jeanine and Margo surprise us with gifts they had bought us to remember them by. What?! You mean to tell me that these girls that have to "work" at the bars to make ends meat and who have already said it’s been a slow week (thank you Jesus) spent the little money they do have on us! That blew my mind. Not that we got a gift but that they loved on us so much that they wanted to bless us and show us their love and kindness. It was the sweetest thing. They truly touched my heartheart God ended my last night of ministry with a bang.
The work here at Loihkroh Road is finished and the girls have accepted Jesus Christ and are leaving the bars……no sadly that is not the happily ever after to this story. But God did let me love on these 2 beautiful women for 1 month. He blessed me with getting to know them and making new friends across the globe. Had the Lord not picked me for this time and place I wouldn’t have known that Margo works in the bars to save enough money to go back to the university and continue her education. I wouldn’t have known that Jeanine sells her body in the bars to get enough money to send to her mother who takes care of her 8yr old son, who she hasn’t seen in a while but calls every day. So they are not just prostitutes, broken women, or a lady boy; they are a university student and a mother. See them as the beating heart they are inside and not for what they do. They are beautiful, loving, kind, and accepting women.  So as you say your prayers and our Christmas praises please pray for the girls and the so many others on Loihkroh Road.
