?Eres China? Huh…Am I Chinese? Yup that’s what one of the dads from our visits to pray for families in the barrios asked me. Yeah that’s a first for me. I keep getting here if I’m from the countries we’re in because well it’s Latin America. Back home I’ve been asked if I was Indian, from India but never if I was Asian. Along with that Whitney was told that she looked like Barbie. So funny! That dad and really his whole family were so great to hang out with. We were able to just be and not open their door and we’re all up in their face asking to pray for them without knowing them and them to know us a little. So this was nice to get to know them a bit then let God guide our prayers. I am enjoying praying for the barrios more. It’s getting less and less awkward. But then again how many of us would let complete strangers into our homes and roam our halls. But it works here. Being the lucky ones that God has chosen to use to bring His light and hope into these communities is an honor and such a blessing to me. Thank You Jesus!
We went to the hospital here for one of our prayer walks. My team and I went into the Labor and Delivery wing and it was great! We tried to name a couple new born babies without success
Gosh darnit my goal is to be able to name a baby sometime on this race;) . We got to see little babies, little miracles from the Lord. I’m starting to really truly see how much of a blessing babies and kids are to ones life and not just a kid to raise. Sorry back on track, praying for the mothers and babies and getting to hold one of the little baby boys was definitely a good day. The toughest part though was praying for the woman who had to give birth to her still born baby and then left to recover in the same room with the other mothers holding their newborns. I can’t imagine how difficult that would be. So praying for her brought some tears for her broken heart. So leaving it in God’s hands to not only heal her physically but more importantly her heart.
All in all a good day because we’re here and God is here doing some amazing things. He is good all the time, all the time He is good
