Life is a series of different seasons.
Sometimes we know when they are about to change, and other times it catches us by surprise. Right now I am at an interesting place in life because I know that I am about to enter a new season. The new season is still a mystery, but I know it is coming and I know it will be a great time of my life, even when it seems cumbersome. But the anticipation for the upcoming change makes it difficult for me to focus on the season I am still in. As my list of “things to do before the world race” grows, it becomes increasingly more challenging to live in the moment. There are so many things left in this season to finish. So many things left to enjoy to the fullest.
So this is my challenge to myself and to the rest of my squad: Let’s FINISH WELL. You wouldn’t stop wearing your coat just because you know spring is on its way and you want to be ready for it. You wouldn’t pack up your swimsuit in the middle of July just because fall is just around the corner. So we do not need to forget about our lives at home just because we know we are about to embark on this amazing life changing journey. It is hard to live in the now, at least I know it is hard for me, but I think that there are still blessings to be had in our American lives.
There are still people that need love.
There are still people that need hope.
And there are still people that need Jesus.
