welcome to my page, I am planning on going on a gap year trip for the year 2018-2019. I am partnering with a company called Adventure in Missions and the subprogram I am participating in is called The World Race. During this trip I will be gone for 9 months traveling to 4 different countries around the world. My first stop is Guatemala, then my group will be heading to Thailand, followed by Malaysia, and ending in Swaziland, Africa. A lot of prayer has gone into this decision and I cannot wait to go on this trip to see how God will change me and form me into the man that he wants me to become. On the trip I will try to make weekly vlogs to keep everybody updated. This will be a way for me to share with you, my sponsor, all of activities I will be doing and how God is working in the midst.

During my senior year of high school I was forced to decide  what my next steps were. I decided to apply to Grand Canyon University (GCU) and was accepted! Unfortunately, for some reason I didn’t feel called to go just yet. During the summer as I was on a mission trip with my church to the Dominican Republic, and my sister in the Lord, Vickie, was telling me about the program The World Race. I looked into it and it seemed really cool so I decided to apply. I had to go through an interview process and found out that I was accepted. After finding this out, I still went to visit GCU’s campus with my sister and as we were finishing the paperwork we were informed that they had maxed out there male housing so I couldn’t attend that semester. I felt like this was a push in the right direction, which is to serve along others my age with The World Race.

The World race is an organization that sends young adults (ages 18-20) across 3-4 continents over a period of 9 months. Since 2006 the world race has sent over 4,600 different racer’s around the globe, however Adventure in Missions has been around since 1989 sending over 110,000. They partner with different churches all around the globe. Their main focus are mission, discipleship, and adventure. While I am on this trip each day will look a little different, I will be doing everything from construction, VBS, building relationships with orphans, or praying for the sick at a hospital. Some other days I will be shopping for groceries at the market, cooking for our team, and spending time praying for the community that I would walk through. However all of it depends on the ministry partners needs.

My financial goal is $15,300.This is a lot of money for a teenager coming out of high school. This money will cover the cost of (most of my airfare for the trip, food during the whole trip, housing while I am in the other countries, and international medical insurance). I am currently working at two jobs to save my earnings for half of the trip cost. I am seeking help from sponsors, like you, to raise the other half of the trip cost, roughly $7,600. I am sharing this information with you so that you understand how serious I am about this trip. I am not looking for handouts, just support from my friends and family.

Most importantly, I ask that you pray for my trip. Pray for myself and those I will be traveling with, that God will prepare our hearts now for the mission ahead. Please pray for safety, health, and peace amongst our group. Pray for those we will come into contact with, that they will be open to hearing the word of God and blessed by our service to them. Secondly, if it is on your heart to donate, there are a few ways you can go about doing so. Sponsor’s can do a single donations of any amount or a monthly one that would last around six months depending on how much you would like to donate.
