Eating goat, gizzard and crickets were just the beginning of the adventures I experienced at training camp last week. I had very little expectations of training camp and God definitely met me there and surpassed every expectation I could have imagined. Although the training was broken down into 3 categories: communal living, intimacy with God and community, during the whole training I felt my relationship and intimacy grow more than it ever has with the Lord. One of the challenges I faced each morning was the lack of coffee provided (basically we had none the entire time). The first 2 days  were tough because each morning at home I love to make my coffee first thing and then have my quiet time with the Lord. I felt God showing me how special our time in the morning could be without coffee. I was completely focused on Him and after a few days I was not missing it at all. The next challenge I faced was the 2.2 mile hike with my 30 pound backpack. Again, the Lord surpassed my expectations, it wasn’t as difficult as I had thought, and I was able to rejoice in every step I took. Not only did I feel closer to the Lord, my team drew closer to one another as we had to work together in order to finish.

I am so blessed to be apart of my amazing squad. I know God has great plans for each one of us as we begin this incredible journey. I am asking you to join us. Join us in rejoicing that Christ is our focus, join us in tears we will share as we leave loved ones behind and lastly join us in prayer. We are about a month away from launch and I feel overwhelmed at times. Please keep all of us in  your prayers as we prepare for launch. Thank your support through the beginning of this journey. I am stoked to see the Lord’s plan for these next 9 months.
