The moment you tell your Mom you want to go overseas to six different countries for nine months is always a fun moment, but i knew God had His plan in place for this upcoming journey when I decided to go on a gap year trip. With my family and friends support and love I will be launching in September.
The past few months God has been showing me my selfish heart and sinful desires. I have been working and going to school for the past two years, completely focused on my education and not taking time to invest in others. God opened my eyes to the needs of others around me and that it is okay if i put myself on hold and invest in others for a time.
Being the youngest of 4 kids and the youngest grandchild in the family, i guess you could say I have been a little spoiled at times. My family has always been a huge support for me through all of my adventures and they have always been there to coddle me at times. So this trip will definitely be a challenge not only because i have never slept in a tent, but also spiritually and emotionally.
I ask you to pray for my trip, myself and my team. I will be heading out for training camp in the next week and I am looking forward to meeting my squad. As you pray I would ask you pray a hedge of protection around the team and also the leaders, not only are we heading to dangerous areas, but also the work we will be doing will not please the devil and he will be trying to bring us down.
