If you’ve watched the news lately, I’m sure you’re just as sad as I am to see all that is happening. I am not going to go into details in this blog but I just wanted to touch on it a bit. There is no room for this kind of hatred and bigotry. There is no room for this kind of evil, for any evil at all. Whether that be in America or around the world. We are ALL made in the image of God, but this is not the image I believe He embodies, the image He calls us to proclaim. For God so loved the world, ALL in the world. He loves women and men of every tribe, tongue and nation. We should, too.
A few nights ago, after reading articles and watching the news (mostly about what happened in Charlottesville, some about world hunger), I felt the urge to speak up. I felt as if I wasn’t doing anything to help. I felt hopeless and ashamed. I then talked to a few a people and their response revealed a lot to me. Do I not realize what it is I am about to be doing in the next 9 months of my life? I guess I didn’t fully understand the reality of it all until I felt true heart break over the corruptness of my own country. In 25 days I will be traveling across the world, solely to help others. I (along with about 250 other 18-21 year olds) am going into the nations to fight the good fight. I am not just thinking about change, I am determined to BE it. I am not just talking about it, I am about to DO it. I am going to assist in loving this world, and I am so excited! I am ready to take part in changing our world for the better.
And guess what? You can do it, too! You can be a world changer! This is just how I personally am helping, by physically going. Some people post on social media about the evils of the world in the comfort of their home, some engage in debates and some protest around our country. You don’t have to leave where you are to make a difference! It’s just what I am choosing to do. Everyone can be an influence in any way they choose, and I think that is wonderful.
I pray for unity. I pray for love. I pray God would give us eyes to see and ears to hear what is really happening in our country and around our world. Assist love. Resist hate.
With that being said, and only a few weeks left at home, I am really cherishing the time I’m spending with friends and family. Reality is hitting me in every way and I’m grateful for that because it helps me live in the now. Speaking of now, I am now $600 away from $10,000! SO CLOSE to my launch goal. I’m so grateful and happy as heck! Feel free to donate if ya wanna ;). Thank you for reading and loving and supporting. Life is crazy and I’m really liking it!! Praise Jesus!
