On Friday, April 27th my team and I participated in a day of “activation” with the staff at our base. the staff here at Adventures Guatemala are incredible. they’re kind and hear Jesus very clearly, encouraging us to dive deeper and listen to His voice. to put this into action, we had a day of ministry where we simply (more or less) ask God what He wants us to do. for some this may sound scary, almost crazy, but for me and my team, it was fun!

We started by practicing our hearing. we were told to pray over which teammate we wanted to give a word from God to, and as I did so with eyes closed, I saw Coles tye-dye shirt. I opened my eyes, looked up, and there Cole was standing in front me! the Lord wanted me to tell him to let go of control and to never shut his eyes, unclenching his fist in full surrender and it actually resonated with Coles heart. Cole then spoke over me, calling me up as a person who walks in a posture of joy, comfort and meekness. just a day before, someone else had called me meek (which basically means gentle) and I wasn’t sure if I believed it. I prayed that night for affirmation in that and then Cole said exactly what I prayed for. about 5 minutes later, one of the staff members, Gabe, then approached me and told me I was tough yet gentle. if that’s not reassurance that God hears my prayers, I don’t know what is!

A few minutes after our practice and prayer, we split off into two groups to go minister to the construction workers outside of our home! Hunter, Cole, Sam and I went with Gabe and Emily. we walked up and met the big man in charge, who then told us that all of the 20+ workers on that road were exhausted from 26 days of straight labor and were getting to go home for the first time at noon. it was 11:20. the boss proceeded to say that every single one of them would appreciate prayer! so, off we went, praying over each individual soul that was hard at work. I then had an overwhelming feeling that someone needed to be healed by the touch of my hands, through Jesus, and as we continued to walk I saw in my head a man smiling and painless. moments later, a nice guy named Eduardo mentioned to us that he had pain in his knee. as Hunter and I laid hands on his knee and began to pray, I felt something shift under my palms. it was as if his knee cap flexed and moved! I closed the prayer out and had Gabe translate for me. Eduardo said his knee was feeling very hot, and as he started to move it a huge smile crossed his face… he was completely painless! Eduardo was healed! the vision and sense that God had given me was confirmed.

this is just a short testimony of the big things God is doing in me and through my squad here in Guatemala! today marks 32 days until I’ll be home, and it is honestly bittersweet. I’m sad to be leaving the race and my beautiful community, but excited to take all that I’ve learned and grown in back home with me! Thank you so much for reading along with my journey.
