Oh hey there, it is SO good to see your face again. Haha just kidding. I can’t actually see your face!
So, funny thing – this is the first blog that I have written from a prompt my entire time on the World Race! I have dearly loved this blog platform, where I can share about what the Father is doing in my heart, and in others’ hearts all over the world. It has been a privilege to learn to steward and has pushed me into a deep urgency and confidence to share the story of God as told through his Church body. The World Race has provided this amazing space that has encouraged and challenged us to do that very thing – and I could not be more thankful.
Though, this is not the only platform that the World race has provided. They also have created and cultivated a space and a platform for the Lord to transform, purify and sanctify racer’s lives throughout their Gap Year program.
We have had the honor to be pushed as the Church to better reflect the kingdom through the World Race. Leadership has consistently pushed us to push each other, and even create space through surveys to receive feedback to keep making their program more suited for Racers. I could not be more privileged to have my input valued by such a great mission as the World Race Gap Year.
Without a doubt, my life is being crafted beautifully by the hands of my Maker; this is only evident in the fruit that my life is beginning to produce as a disciple and follower of Jesus. If this organization had not chosen obedience, I don’t know if my life would be the same as I know and am experiencing it presently.
So, yeah. The World Race is kinda dope. The heart that began it and the hearts that have been changed by it are so pure and reflect Christ’s kingdom so well. If you’re on the edge about signing up or committing, pull a Humpty Dumpty and just hop in already. It’s worth it homie.
I share more about how my life has been changed in some of my other blogs… if you’re interested to know about my journey, you can go read some of them!
I love this organization. I love the people who lead it, and the people who have walked with me under it for the past 9 months. I have had the privilege to meet higher-up people (Mr. Mudd, Mr. Barnes, I am talking about you), and have found their hearts to be completely and radically for the Lord. My amazing leadership team (Kate, Shaun, Colleen, Brook, Philip, and my lovely alumni team leaders) has changed and redeemed the way that I see leadership in the Church; they endlessly pursue love, edification, and honor with their entire beings.
To the World Race Gap Year peeps – thank you. Thank you for co-laboring with the Lord so that I may experience intimacy with God, community with other believers, and participate in the mission of Christ as a disciple. Love you tons, people.
Quick Update: Less than two weeks left on the Race! We leave for final debrief on the 25th, and then I head to Miami for a few days until I fly home to New York on the 2nd of June! Really soaking up the time that I have left with these people I have the chance to call my family. Seeking to finish well, and love others with everything. Until next time,
