Today (Really tues the 25th) we took the wrong bus after ministry. So after ministry we usually have to wait about 40min for the bus to come down the mountai. This time instead of waiting that long we decide to take the bus when it is going up the mountain instead of waiting for it to come back down. After about 25 min pass on the bus we start to feel that something isn’t right. The bus stops at this little town called no no at 430pm; we were all confused because EVERYONE was getting off. This lady told us that the bus would begin to head down the mountain at 530pm. So we were all like what are we gonna do in the meantime? The town at the time was surrounded with a thick fog and The town seemed mostly empty. we start to walk around for a while as half of troop ( team silverback and team tribe) is freaking out and the other half (including me) is enjoying the adventur. I have to admit tho the devil really was trying to instill fear into some of us. Ben Jacob and Brenden found a cemetery, I found a horse skull, and it sounded like pigs were being slaughtered or something. I knew it was God’s will for us to be in this town even tho it was completely unplanned. As some of us were exploring, nearby the rest of us were talking with this older Ecuadorian man who seemed to be a veteran. After a while he invited us into his home. He had a lot of kids around from 6 to 20 somethin. Him and his wife prepared coffer and bread for us and even had someone on the lookout for our bus. Thier House was large but reminded me of the houses of the families I visited on my first mission trip in Quintana Roo Mexico. Thankfully Melena Knew good Spanish so we were able to communicate well with them and pray with them. The mothers daughter makes these knitting art things so two of us bought 3 of them and poured into them that way. We plan on going back there Sunday to minister more with them. Gods will was that we trust in him and his plan, rather then try to control the situatio. He led us to this family, now we have the opportunity to further minister to them. Once we got onto the bus we get to our stop on the bottom of the mountain then catch the bus to the mall. Relieved now that we were at the mall we thought all the craziness was over. God had another plan. After eating we all head outside to catch the bus home with 40min to spare. We got on the wrong one again..(not pointing fingers as to how that happened). By the way it was our first time without any leaders so that didn’t look good either. Once we’re all on the bus we realize that this isn’t our usual route. Josh a the driver if the bus is going to terminal carcelene and the driver immediately stops the bus, tells us to get of, and points to the direction of terminal carcelene. So all of us are speed walking through this unknown part of Quito at 7:50pm (Quito gets dark at 6), wondering where the heck we‘re at. Still I trusted that God would get us home safe; I was still enjoying the adventure. Some girls starting freaking out (like seriously). Eventually a local told us we were like 3 miles away; so we decide to split up and take taxis to the bus station. We ended up putting the 3 most freaked out girls in the same taxi, and that taxi was going the wrong way for 10 min; so that wasn’t our smartest idea. While we were nervously waiting on their taxi to show up at the terminal we decided to pray and rely on God to get them there safely and after 2min they arrived. After we all basically sprinted from the bus stop to home we made it at 8:20pm. God never failed us. UPDATE (9-30-18): some of us kept our vow to the family and returned Sunday to eat with them again. We got there around noon but they werent there so we decided to explore the Town of no no (which was a lot more lively than last time). We ended up playing mini golf and petting baby cows and meeting this man who worked at the farm named Adrian. He spoke English so we really got to minister to him well. Around 2 we get back to the house and the family is finally there and was waiting on us. They fed us little potatoes and fried pig intestines and cheese. They then took us up the mountain (in the back of a truck, really fun) to their farm and showed us around. They were really happy that we came back to see them and brought them food. We barely caught the bus however, if it wasn’t for them looking out we would have missed it. Oh and cat fell trying to run to the bus.
