I’m Elena 🙂 Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.
I am 23 and I was born in Bucharest, Romania which is the capital of a cute little country in Europe. My family and I moved to the U.S when I was 8 years old and Cleveland, Ohio has been our home ever since.
Although I was pretty young when we moved, I have vivid and happy memories of my childhood in Romania. The transition to a new country was definitely challenging for my family but the Lord has lovingly provided for us so much over the years!
I have 4 amazing sisters!
Well only two biological ones. Let me explain–I have a twin sister and an older sister. They are my best friends and I am so grateful for our close bond. I also have two little soul sisters! I met them when I was a summer camp counselor. I consider them and their parents my family because they are amazing humans who have brought a lot of love and joy into my life.
I graduated from Cleveland State University this past May, with a degree in Graphic Design. I have always had an appreciation for art and I love making this world more beautiful through design! Later down the road I hope to become more involved with human centered design which seeks to discover and address the needs of people through creative problem solving.
God has given me a heart for serving others and helping people that are less privileged–this is one of the reasons why I chose to do the Race! I realized that the only things holding me back from perusing my dream of going on a mission trip were fear & anxiety–which is not what I want my life to be defined by.
I truly believe that God wants us to live life abundantly and when we place our trust in Him we receive the amazing opportunity to experience the freedom and joy He generously offers!

Mountains (I went to New Zealand this past summer and I fell in love with them!)

Plane rides
Rollerblading
Singing loudly in my car
Drinking tea, lots and lots of tea
Listening to people’s stories and having meaningful conversations
