Fundraising… Does this word bring the same anxiety to you as it used to for me..?
I realize now that I just misunderstood fundraising. I did not understand the concept of fundraising in the way that God intends for us to!
1 Chronicles 29:14 “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.”
What are we doing when we tithe to our church?? Fundraising! And I didn’t understand this until today! When we tithe to our church we are fundraising for our church staff, the buildings, the outreach opportunities, etc… So my question is, why do so many of us get stressed out when we are told we need to fundraise?
When we understand fundraising in the way that God intended it, the weight is automatically lifted off of us. It is not our responsibility to go out and find the money! But it is more about being obedient to our Heavenly Father. It is about trusting His loyalty and faithfulness. It is about knowing that God will see us through any journey He takes us on.
Why am I telling you this? Because I need to fundraise $17,700 by October of THIS year to be fully funded! That sounds like A LOT!! But I know that my God is capable of what seems impossible!
I will be traveling to 11 countries in 11 months! I will be serving in Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia. We will be partnering with organizations and churches in local communities to share the love of Jesus Christ with unreached people groups, plant churches, camp ministry, feeding programs, sex trafficking ministry, youth ministry, local community outreach, special needs ministry, refugee ministry, and teaching English! So many of which are things that God has used to light a fire in my heart for His people! It’s like this route is designed for me!
This is not about taking your money in a time as we are living now.. This is not about asking anybody and everybody to give away their money. This is about trusting that my Heavenly Father is going to provide for my expenses that He is leading me to. There are people all around the world asking God how they can help during these times! What can they do to serve His Kingdom when a lot of churches are still shut down and restrictions on gatherings continue.
This… This is one way that you can serve His Kingdom! God’s finances paired with our obedience can make a difference in the world none of us can even imagine!!
So I ask you to take this time to come alongside me and PRAY! Just pray! Pray for the race, pray for the racers, pray for the communities we will be ministering to, pray for health and healing, peace and excitement! Pray that we can go without a hitch, because these unreached groups need to hear God! They are longing for his hope and restoration. Let’s take them some hope! Let’s share the love of Christ!
