Hi! Thanks for making your way over to my blog. I hope you’ll subscribe and keep up with me and read about the awesome ways God will use my team and I during the World Race!
The most important thing to know about me is that I’m a Christian, a follower of Jesus. I have been overwhelmed by God’s great love for me, and I’ve repented and received forgiveness for my sins through the shed blood of God’s Son Jesus Christ, and now I truly live because Jesus lives! He is my Savior and King, and I want to worship Him with my life. He’s also my closest friend. If you don’t know Jesus, let’s talk! 🙂
I grew up and went to college in South Carolina. Growing up in the South I was exposed to God and Jesus but the truth of the Gospel never clicked in my heart. I didn’t care or think about God. Jesus meant nothing to me. When I was 20 at Clemson University (*cough* national college football champs… *cough* Just sayin’). Anyway, when I was 20 I hit an extreme low point and I prayed “God, if you are real, please guide me.” And He did!
I soon became connected with a Christian fellowship group called Chi Alpha. After 6 months, I went on a mission trip and gave my life to Christ. Within the year, I was called to missions. One and a half years after I was saved, I moved from South Carolina to Las Vegas to be a missionary to the victims of human trafficking in the United States.
I’ve been in Las Vegas for the last 4 1/2 years with the love, prayers, and support of dozens back home in SC, trying to follow Christ where He leads me, to serve and love those living in spiritual darkness and share the Gospel when possible. It’s been an amazing journey, seriously difficult sometimes, but something I wouldn’t trade for anything. The Lord has done beautiful and eternal things.
I’m excited now to transition to international missions on the World Race. My team and I will travel to the 10/40 window, an area of the world with a huge concentration of people who have been largely kept from the transforming power of the Gospel. I’m praying that God will use me as a vessel to love and serve the lost, and to tell them about Jesus and the Good News (probably through a translator!). I know that I have a really small view of missions, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to see how God is moving in the world! We will travel to: Spain, Morocco, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, Jordan, Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and China.
I love my family and friends, everything outdoors, reading, baking, and playing my guitar. I’m #4 of 7 children. Meyers & Briggs say I’m an ISFJ, and it’s so true. I have a pug named Pugsly and he is the best. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, but due to the focus on human trafficking, haven’t used it one bit. I’m terrible with directions (I’ve prayed “God, please don’t let me get lost somewhere in Mongolia!!”) Oh, and I’m 26!
I’m excited for you to journey along with me! Don’t forget to subscribe, and keep my team in your thoughts and prayers!
Blessings,
Elaine
