I’ve never had someone call me a thief before…

Let me tell you a little bit about our ministry this month in Peru.

This month we were in 11 cities in 11 days. Approximately 75 hours total travel time by bus and I’ve packed and unpack my things about 11 times.

This month we did primarily children’s ministry, singing, dancing, laughing and basically being circus monkeys. Me and my team loved every moment of it and feel so blessed to be here in Peru.

This month I cuddled a puppy that needed warmth and contracted flees, I wore the same outfit too many times to count and I had a hot shower and ate a guinea pig I saw running around me hours before..

All these things I expected, but what I didn’t see coming was how the people told me I was stealing from them…

The people of Peru are some of the most protective, intense, serving and passionate people I have ever met.

We were not able to go to the bathroom alone, not able to carry our bags, not able to wash our dishes after eating, not able to go anywhere without a chaperone. Luckily they let us shower alone in-case anyone was wondering.

One particular moment my team and I were trying to clean up after dinner again and do dishes and one of the men looked at us and said “Don’t steal our blessing, we want to serve you, your not allowed to clean anything”

This was quite a shock to our team as the last 3 months we had been doing physical labour and being expected to clean and do everything by ourselves.

I am still blown away by the servant hood of these people and will never forget the impact and love they have shown myself and my team.
