Three weeks so far in Uganda. Alright so this month is almost over yet I kinda feel like I’m still transitioning out of Kenya, and out of month One. Time literally flies here. LITERALLY Ann Perkins…(Sorry just needed to throw in a Parks and Recreation reference). We are staying with the Pastor of Cornerstone Community church and teaching in the cornerstone community schools. And as the saying there goes Forward Ever. Backward Never.  So that’s what we’ve been doing this month…moving forward.
It was a little harder this month to figure out how ministry would go especially since the team and I are the pastor’s first World Race Team that he’s hosted. Oh and yes once again just like Kenya we are staying in a nice four bedroom home…maybe one day I’ll go on the race?? 😉
This month we are very involved with the Cornerstone schools. There are 3 around Kampala, that the team and I have been teaching at. Yes teaching, math, science, English all those fun things. I have been teaching 1st grade and 4th grade.  I like to play the game, “things I didn’t think I’d ever be doing” and teaching 4th grade math in Africa definitely makes the list. Lets see we are currently learning to count money and how to calculate what change you should get back, It’s pretty COOL.
When we first got to Uganda and into Pastors house he told us all that about 10 years ago he received a prophecy from a friend that a group of people from far away would come into his home and the church and be a blessing to the community and the church. He then looked at us and said that’s why he was so grateful and blessed for us to be here. And my first thought was “And here I am” said extremely sarcastically. He has got to be re-thinking this prophecy. But God wanted me here, He wanted my whole team here. It reminds me that God will use me even when I don’t think I’m capable of being used. God’s going to see more in us then we see in ourselves. That doesn’t make everything super easy all the time but I’m just really thankful for that.
            Missing you all.

4th grade class at corner stone school in gabba. Just being crazy.
