Jambo! After leaving Friday from Dulles airport In D.C at 10:50 pm we finally arrived in Nairobi Kenya on Sunday morning at 6 am. Two red eyes, lots of waiting and one life changing layover in Qatar. Ok not exactly life changing but seriously I just found Qatar to be so mysterious and cool. Not only was it the hottest place on earth (just from walking off the plane to the bus) but also the diversity in that airport was just endless. I have a new obsession. Ok so by the time we had arrived in Kenya you can just imagine how excited everyone was even being basically without sleep for two days straight. But here is where it got really fun, we got to Nairobi 6 am their time SOOO we had the entire day to try and stay awake from the jet lag..AWESOME. The deliriousness was out of control. For Sunday and Monday we have been staying at Milimani backpacker’s Hostel, which is just fantastic. It even has western toilets, so yes it’s been a great transition. One of the coolest parts has to be the other people staying here, for example there is a man here from China who is riding his Bike across the WORLD. He left from China two years ago and hopes to be done in about 10 years. He’s cool. Honestly the chance to relax after all the traveling has been real great. Tomorrow (Tuesday) we head out to our ministry site, about 8 hour on bus. Can’t wait! It’s gonna get even more real.
