With a little less then three weeks left till launch things are starting to get pretty legit. Last minute purchases and packing lists are being made, and good bye's are being said. Today is my last day of work, and with that ending I can't help but refelct on how exciting it is that this new chapter and journey is starting so soon! With work being so slow today I have time to blog on this, and thankfully so becuase the d and y keys stick on this keyboard so this is already taking me way to long to write. 🙂
I was out to dinner with a good friend the other night and she wanted to hear stories from training camp and hear how support raising was going. The more qustions she asked the more crazy amazing things I remembered that had been happening these past months. God is so faithful, He just is. She encouraged me to write them down so that they would be reminders to me later on as truths in my life. These stories becuase they are God's, deserve not to be forgotten or overlooked. So here's an example of one in an effort not to forget: I was getting ready to speak at church for the second time about the trip. It was youth sunday and before I went up the church had just given a gift of $100 to thank one of the youth for all his help and becuase he was just starting an internship (I think he was in college). I spoke after and then went to go sell Threads of Hope bracelets at a table after church. The boy who had recieved the $100 gift came up to the table and asked if he could donate. He then handed me $100. He had just recieved it as a gift and gave it away so easily like it wasn't even his in the first place. This brings me joy and challeges me to have the same attitude. In speaking on support alone money has come in from so many friends and family memebers in ways I didn't think it would. I can't really say much more then THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
and just to think that this story and many more like it are just the beginning of the race…
