Hello, and welcome to my humble corner of weirdness, introspection, and crazy Love!
I grew up in the small city of Oak Creek Wisconsin in the Milwaukee county. My parents made the decision to home school me and my older brother until late middle school; I had quite the variation of learning settings, from bookstore study time to museum expeditions to planetarium visits to simply sitting in a tree. Social interaction was abundant, as we were a part of a Christian home schooling group created and led by my aunt and mother which comprised of about 50 families, so my transition from homeschooling to public schooling wasn’t a complete social disaster, although it had its bumps along the way that aided in the sculpting of who I am today.
I love my family dearly. They love me and encourage me every day, and for that blessing I will be ever grateful. We are a strong unit, comprised of my father, mother, brother, and newly joined sister-in-law. My dad is my emotional rock. He has the fiercest love of anyone I have ever met, and it binds my family forever together. My mother is my best friend. She is a children’s story and murder mystery writer who would give all her wit and spunk away in a heartbeat for someone in need. My brother gets me on a level that no one else can, having had such a similar upbringing. We can communicate to each other in a depth that connects our ridiculous sense of humor and hardest struggle understanding at the same time. My sister-in-law is the perfect addition to our family and a wonderful balance to my brothers laid-back personality. She is a headstrong prayer warrior and selfless individual who never lets a loved one go without encouragement and discerning insight.
I enjoy learning and looking at the little details of how things function, whether that be examining the gears on a clock or holding a leaf up to the light. I will always be ready to learn new things, even when I am no longer in school!
Reading, drawing, painting, and writing are activities I will happily engage in at almost any moment in time! It is rare to find me without some kind of paper and writing utensil. I am excited to see how God will use these interests I have in my future.
God has given me the desire to travel the world. To be on the mission field sharing the Love of Christ is where I know I am meant to be. His Love for each and every individual is unfathomable…I do not want a single soul to be unaware of this precious blessing we have been so gifted! The fascination of people and cultures holds main prevalence in my life, and I long to come to a level of understanding with those living across the world from me and those just steps away by taking time to truly listen to what others have to say, give eye contact, and step out of my own judgement to a place of acceptance and unwavering grace as Jesus would.
Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
