After visting Patong Beach last Wednesday, the guys and I felt like we really needed a break. We took Friday off from ministry so we would have a three-day weekend. I spent Friday reading and spending time with Jesus while most of the rest of the guys took off for Phang Nga. I left on Saturday morning with a few guys to meet up with them.
Phang Nga is a pretty high-demand tourist location. There are a lot of waterfalls, tourist attractions, and the James Bond Island to see. The group that went on Friday were able to cruise around on the ocean in a boat and see the James Bond Island. They said it was absolutely beautiful and a great experience. When we got there, we found a hotel room for the night, dropped off our stuff and headed out to find a motorcycle rental place. We found one and soon we had five motorcycles for the 10 of us.
We started out on an adventure to find a waterfall. The waterfall is located in a national park. It's beautiful and totally a fix for someone that loves being in creation like I do. Some of the guys got there earlier than I did and were able to hike far up in to the hills and find some caves while me and Bryan explored the surrounding areas.

After that, we headed to the Heaven & Hell cave. We weren't quite sure what we were getting ourselves in to until we arrived there. We found that it was a place for Buddhists to come and worship. There were a lot of idols and…. lots of creepy characters depicting their interpretation of what Hell would look like. The cave was actually pretty cool, nonetheless. You entered the cave by going through the mouth and belly of a dragon!

Once inside, the cave was deep and dark. Some of the other guys decided to journey down inside, but Noah and I, being the smart ones that we are ventured out of the cave and found a woman giving away free ice cream!
Riding motorcycles is my thing. It's one of the things that I do that makes me feel closest to God. I don't know if it's the feeling of being a little dangerous, a little unprotected, or just the open air and the wind all over my body. Whatever it is, I love it. I love taking turns and knowing that just one wrong move and I could be really hurt but at the same time knowing it doesn't matter because I'll be safe.
The weekend was amazing and I find myself back in Phuket feeling even more rested and restored in God's rest. I am so thankful for these men of L squad and everything we've been able to do together. I am truly lucky to be able to spend so much time with some serious men of God.
