Wow! That is the only word I can say to encompass all that has happened over this last week. This week we really got going with Pastor David's family and ministry.
Pastor David's Church – Iglesia Evangelica Pueblo De Dios
Sunday night was incredible. God had placed something awesome on
Erin's heart the week before – feet washing. We asked Pastor David and Rene if washing the feet of the members of his congregation would be possible during the service. He said they would be absolutely honored. When we arrived on Sunday, there were already three foot washing stations set up in the sanctuary. They had heated some water, gotten the basins, and provided us with plenty of towels. We were ready. During the service, Pastor David preached on John 13, where Jesus washed the feet of his disciples.
There were two other teams with us that night at church because the two teams that had been working at the orphanage had come to service. We all began washing feet and were trading off, praying for the people as we went.
After the whole congregation had come forward, they began to wash our feet. This is where most of us lost it. We hadn't seen this coming at all. We thought that we were going to be doing them a service and showing them humility, but in reality, they flipped it on us!

Overall, Sunday was epic. All of us there couldn't quite find the words after that service. There were a lot of tears, a lot of hugging, and a lot of love. It was a great experience.
The rest of the week was a little less eventful. I took off from ministry on Monday to work on some logistics with Shayna and Seth. The rest of the team finished up the painting at Pastor David's church. Tuesday we all headed to a new church run by Pastor Victoriano. We painted there for the rest of the week. He asked us to paint the entire inside as well as the front of the outside.
Pastor Victoriano was very gracious and loving while we were serving at his church. We had great fellowship with Rene and the youth of Pastor V's church. We finished up at his church on Thursday afternoon. We are heading to Lake Atitlan for a leaders retreat today. Well the leaders have a training so the rest of us just get to go have fun! 🙂
