Debrief has been incredible thus far. We arrived a few days early because Erin needed to be here early for squad leading so it was a nice few days. We found an amazing Mexican restaurant where I ordered the most delicious and wonderful Chimichanga ever (besides ones made at home by my mom, of course!). This debrief has been full of opportunities for me. I have been able to pray for several people, engage in conversations and really be intentional in getting to know squad mates.
A few of our squad members, Jackie, Noah and Emily had thoughts to film a squad video during this debrief at Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a Hindu temple that was constructed around 1125 and is considered to be the eighth ancient wonder of the world. When we showed up it was incredible. The temple is so huge it is hard to imagine that they built it without modern equipment. It’s the largest religious monument in the world!

We started filming the video during the afternoon. The video is about the freedom that members of the squad have experienced through JC on the Race. It was great to see people express their freedom in different ways. The rest of us contributed in other ways (you can see in the video when it’s finished!). It was hot and we were all super sweaty but it was awesome and it will totally be worth it when the video is completed! I’ll be sure to post a link to my blog when the video is online somewhere!

We leave for Kenya tomorrow! I CANNOT WAIT! It has been almost three years since I left the sweet, red dirt of Kenya. We are going to work with an old friend, Mary Mambo, in the Mukuru Slum just outside of Nairobi. It will be so good to see her again and to dive in to ministry in the slum.
