I entered this debrief with a lot of energy and motivation.  I had survived my second month in Asia.  As you know from previous blogs, the men spent month five together in Thailand working with our hands.  I was excited to get back together with my team.  I was excited to see our coaches, Seth and Karen, and I was excited about the beach!

I also came to debrief knowing that it was going to be a little rough.  L Squad’s two remaining alumni squad leaders, Carly and KK, were going home.  We had a delightful little party for them and said our goodbyes to Carly who was leaving the next morning.  It was bittersweet.  Both of them are heading home and taking a little break and then going on their next big adventure.  We’ve had some great times over the past five months and it was hard to see them go!

On the last day of debrief Noah, Christopher, Moriah, KK and I decided to rent motorbikes and leave really early in the morning to see if we could find a waterfall.  After a quite chilling two-hour ride, we finally came to the entrance of the waterfall.  The gates were closed.  We were informed that the waterfall didn’t open until later that morning.  We were disappointed because we didn’t have enough time to wait.

However, as we were driving home, God blessed us with a beautiful lake instead.  It was just after sunrise and it was gorgeous.  The lake was reflecting the image of the mountains and trees that lined its banks.  We had some fun taking pictures and playing on a little concrete tower jutting out of the water.

My squad headed out the next morning after saying our goodbyes to KK.  We’re headed for the border now.  Please pray that we make it across the border safely and without any problems!
