Whew! It’s been a hectic last few days. We made it to the airport in Uganda plenty early – which was a total God thing. When we arrived, they told us they wouldn’t let us check-in until we proved to them that we had tickets out of South Africa. Adventures had been working on purchasing tickets for us but they weren’t quite ready. I called the office and woke some people up (sorry!), and within 30 minutes, we had tickets and they started checking us in.
The rest of the day went swimmingly. We spent about eight hours in the airport in Nairobi and hung out the Nairobi Java House and played games and watched movies. Once we boarded the plane to South Africa, we were served dinner – you know, the usual treatment. We finally made it to South Africa and were through customs before midnight. We decided to stay the night in the airport after hearing some pretty brutal stories about Johannesburg being unsafe at night. It was super chilly, but we blew up our pads, unpacked our sleeping bags and slept until 5am.
When we woke up, the search for our bus began. The airport is a little large so it took our logistics guy, Bryan, a little while to find it. When he found it we were all shocked. This bus was HUGE. There was room for our entire squad. That’s unheard of! It was extra comfy, too! We were told the bus ride to Swaziland would be between 8-10 hours but it ended up only being about 5 hours including the border crossing. Praise the Lord!
In two days we departed Uganda, arrived in Kenya, departed Kenya, arrived South Africa, departed South Africa, and finally arrived safe and sound in Swaziland.

This country is crazy beautiful! There’ll be some pictures in my upcoming blogs.
For the first two weeks of this month, I’ll be traveling with the other three squad leaders around to visit each team and their site. We’re currently with Sweet Aroma and The Sheilas. They are spending their time this month working with a wonderful woman named Corinne. She runs 4 preschools in the area, while also conducting some local outreach.
Pray as we travel this month that God protects us and guides us. Pray that He allows us to minister to the teams and contacts while we are visiting. Pray that we be obedient in all that He asks us to do. Pray for the Swazi people to have soft hearts towards Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
