So far, I am very much enjoying my time in month 2 of the race. Just to play catch up haha, let me give you a small recap. Our entire squad traveled to Jaco Costa Rica on Tuesday September 4th for our squad debrief before heading into all squad month. We arrived t this beautiful Hostel called room 2 board, which is right on the beach (holla atcha boy lol) and just had a beautiful time connecting with the Lord and with each other and pressing into some hard things.

While at debrief I met a tour guide and hostel volunteer named Jack. It was one of those instances where I felt the leading of The Holy Spirit guide me to strike up conversation with Jack. Jack is a vey interesting person with such A HUGE caring heart and seeing people live out the things they are passionate about. He is 19 and already a CEO of his own business through TED talks that he actually founded and is now in over 40 different locations throughout the World.

As we continued our deep conversation, we Got on the topic of religion and God and he confided in me that he was agnostic. To that I said ok that’s great, that is where you are right now. Then his next question shook me. He knew we were doing religious things and that we expressed a belief in God and Jesus, and he thought that was really cool and interesting. So he asks me: what does it feel like to have God talk to you, and how do you know he talks to you? Crazy cool right? Here is someone who acknowledges the existence of God and is asking these big questions. We talked about the Holy Spirit and his role as a counselor and guide and how he proceeds from God the father and Christ the Son and knows the deep thoughts of God. We talked about the Bible and scripture and so much more. He afterwards mentioned that he has so many more questions and so, we decided to meet one night and just talk.

Yall, this conversation was so good. The Lord was all over the conversation and his presence was so evident. Jack asked really amazing questions such as: What is God? What is the difference between Christianity and other religions such as Catholicism? How can you commit to following Just Jesus and not anyone else? What is the Gospel? and Are you going to Heaven? To answer these we started with God as a being that manifests himself into three persons, the father, son and Holy Spirit. We talked about the creation story and sin and the Gospel and so much more, and how religion is just man’s attempt to get to God, when in reality God comes to us through the being of Jesus and relationship with him, which is what Christianity is and what he desires. We talked about How non believers do not have the Holy Spirit and how God desires all to be saved. We talked for about an hour and a half, and personally I was so full.

After the conversation, Jack informs me that he needed to reflect on all of this, as of right now, he was not ready to commit to following Jesus. the level of self awareness is amazing In thus guy. Friends, the fact that he is asking these questions shows how God is working in him drawing him to Himself. Thus whole interaction is scripture breathed to life. It reminds me of Philip and the Eunuch and how the Eunuch was seeking to understand. But even more so, this whole interaction was so convicting in the sense that, here is this guy who us so hungry for truth and hungry for Jesus, even though he has not committed his life to him. I myself have not been that hungry for the Lord and I am sure there are others as well.

God truly use this new friend in some mighty ways to show who He is. Also, I get the opportunity to keep building relationship with Jack and know more of him and have him come to know more of Jesus and myself. Yall God is moving here and I am so excited for what He is doing. I pray you guys keep following.

PSA, I have 2 weeks to get $2000 to reach my next goal, Please consider donating to help keep me on the field and encounter more people like jack who are hungry and searching for Truth. I am sitting at needing $7,000 to be fully funded, and have prayerfully committed to being fully funded by the end of October.

Thanks for following the Journey
