It was day 5 or 6 of training camp. All of us racers were going through an evangelism training (my absolute favorite). Our speaker just shared with us a way to share the Gospel and be about multiplication, and go and make disciples who make disciples. After our training we found out that all of us would be going out I to the community of Gainesville georgia to share the gospel. We were encouraged to spwnd time prayer walking and asking the Lord what is it he wanted to speak to those we would encounter.
Our squad went to an apartment community that was predominantly spanish speaking (since Our 1st 4 countries on the race were Spanish speaking, adventures isee what you did there lol). We split up into our teams and went out with a translator in pairs or in groups of 3. Our translator Erica, and my teammate and partner Rachel aka rach dawwgg, walked across the street to the apartment complex and we began praying. As we were praying we felt as though the Lord gave us the word “restoration” for these people. We kept walking and Rachel motioned for us to go to the apartmebt complex in the back down this hill. we did and we knocked on our first door and a man opened the door. He seemed reserved at first and we prayed for him and gave him a flye. For the church.
We then knocked on the second door and a man named Germo opened the door. He seemed quiet and reserved and as we prayed and talked i sensed the Lord tell me to share the Gospel with him. Rachel and I did so, and I asked him what is preventing you from surrendering and following Jesus? His response was that he was far away from God and that he needed him. He was burned bya church and he felt this longing in him that was crying out for Jesus. Germo then wanted to give his life to Christ and let him be Lord of his life. As he was praying and talking to Jesus, tears were streaming down his face, there was a spirit of surrender and humility about him that touched my heart. Jesus came after his lost sheep Germo that day. Afterwards, everything about him changed, he had a being and spirit of peace and his whole attitude changed. This man is the one whom put of the harvest will go and make disciples who make disciples, as he himself shared the Gospel with us.
We spoke the word restoration to him and he gelt like God restored him today, and lemme tell ya, he did.
Jesus is so awesome that he meets us where we are even if we wandered and fell astray off he path. Once you are his you are his forever, His grip on you is strong and firm and he will never let go. When Jesus wants you he gone find you. Yall this day brought much joy to my heart and i am so grateful that the Lord wpukd choose someone like me to follow after him andbring kingdom. All i want to do is join him in this life and do the things that he did with him and bring Kingdom.
