Hi my name is Dylan Weaver, nice to meet you. I am 21 years old, currently living in League City, Texas and working as an assistant manager of a restaurant called McAlister’s Deli. I graduated from Clear Springs High School in 2013 and then from there left for a yearlong Christian Internship. Upon graduating from the internship, I begin to take courses at the Kings University to pursue a degree in Theology of Christian Ministry. After one year of College and diligent prayer and fasting, I discovered the Lord was calling me out of school and into the nations. I know, that sound a bit crazy right?

Now that you have a heads-up of who I am, let’s get to the good stuff.  God has brought me to the place where I am now preparing to embark on a journey of a lifetime. I have officially applied and have been accepted for the August 2016 team of the World Race. The World Race is an 11 month mission trip, where young adults will have the opportunity to travel to 11 different countries and spend a month in each country sharing the love of Jesus to the natives. There is a wide range of ministry opportunities in each country, anything from orphan ministry, widow ministry, building ministry to sex trafficking ministry and so on.

Ever since the time I decided to give my heart fully to God in 2013, He has put it heavy on my heart to see the nations changed with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the summer of 2014 I had the privilege of spending a month in Zambia, Africa. While there I got to put into action the passion God has given me for his people worldwide. During my time there God spoke to me and confirmed to me that I was meant to be in the place of “washing feet and serving the least of these.” Upon leaving Zambia I moved back home to League City, Texas and begin to live a “normal” lifestyle. Went to college, got plugged into church and worked my booty off to get money. I worked my way up to become an assistant manager, became a leader in my church, launched and started a successful youth ministry and was a successful college student. I was even offered a youth pastor position at my church as the junior high youth pastor. Everything looked too good to be true. I was finally the successful young adult everyone expected me to be. I was finally going to make something out of myself…according to the world around me.

With all of these successes and positions, I begin to lose sight of the true passions God has given me. Passions to, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.” But, God started to do a work in my heart once the second semester of College begin. He gave me a heart check and my heart started to break for the nations once again. I made decision to drop out of school, drop out of my leadership positions at church and to drop from the ministry I helped birth and launch. I reached my hand to heaven and asked God to take me where he pleases. So He did! He told me to apply in faith for the World Race, and I did! So, here I am now, two weeks from applying and being accepted writing to you about, “Why I chose the World Race?”
