FIRST POST!!!!!!
The point of this page is to tell others about what is going on in my life from pre-race, during the race, and post-race. I hope that you will enjoy the things I share. I hope you will be with me firstly in prayer. Prayer is the most essential thing we can do as followers of Jesus. Without it we are on our own and doing things with no purpose that is eternal. With it….. we are able to experience stacks on stacks of grace.
For those of y’all that know me well you know that I have never, left the country, been on an airplane, or have been away from my home for more than a month. This trip will be something that will change me in ways I cannot fathom.
6 months ago I didn’t have a heart for overseas mission; to be honest I am still scared and unsure of how I will be of use in the field. I can’t sing, not exactly coordinated so if I play sports with kids I will trample them by accident, and I am also very young to be on this race. The cut off is 21 and I will be 21 in March, 7 months before I leave. I could potentially be on a team full of 30 year olds who have experienced more things, held full time jobs, graduated college, and will be wiser than me. There are a lot of things I am not good at.
I am good at one thing though, loving people. I can’t stand to spend time alone for an extended period of time, I love being able to share a meal with a friend, or even go on a random car ride when gas is expensive. I get so much life out of being with others and it’s the one of the things that helps recharge my batteries. This is the one of the things I am bringing to the table.
I want to be on this trip because I don’t want to be on it. This is terrifying for me, I am going to third world countries, I don’t know the language, and I don’t know the culture. I know one thing though, Jesus told his displaces, “Come Follow ME, and I will send you out to fish for people” Mark 1:17. I am obeying the call Jesus made. I don’t know what this journey will yield, I just know Jesus, the king of kings, the name above all names, the alpha and the omega, the true vine, the bread of life, the creator has told me to follow him and go. So that’s what I will do.
I need help though, first PRAY PRAY PRAY! I spent 3 months praying about if this trip was for me. It was the first thing I did. Second, talk to me if you’re reading this I probably already know you well, if not I would love to get to you know/reconnect.
