Matthew 21:22 “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

First of all, I apologize for not being much of a blogger. Sometimes I think people blog because they have nothing better to do. However, there are people who are gifted by God with the talent of writing. I am not one of those people, but I am a person who loves to praise God and the things occurring in my life right now are definitely worth praising Him!

This summer, I have been a High School Youth intern at a church in Columbia. Wow! What a humbling and joy-filled experience it has been. All in all, I am now working there part-time, and commuting back to Savannah (my hometown) every week. Some may say, “Dyer, isn’t that a lot.” My response usually is, “Yes, but God has overcome all things and only through Him am I able to accomplish this unusual season.”

I have been in prayer for this upcoming season, being the World Race. Recently, I have seen many racers whose money has poured in easily! Mine has been consistent and steady. Though it can be discouraging at times, Matthew 21:22 comes to mind. I keep saying that I want the money to come, yet I am not asking the one who the money will come from. So often, our culture forgets the power of prayer and the value in carving out time for our Lord. I challenge you this week to carve out 10 minutes of your time to just be and commune with God, and since He spends all His time on us, ten minutes really can’t compare. I have seen the fruits of this, and when I asked God for a huge sign, He gave me $1,000.

This idea is not to be confused with the prosperity gospel, but is to encourage you! When you are in line with the Lord’s will, He will bless that area in your life! One time it was said to me “God gives you what you need, not what you want.”

Sometimes what you need is also what you want, but thankfully we serve a God who knows far deeper the desires of our heart. Commune with Him for a mere ten minutes, and wait and see what He does in your life. Believe, pray, and wait on the Lord. I hope this article encourages you to trust in the Lord and to spend some time in prayer!
