This letter (below) was written to my "Older Brother" (as my Mama would call him), Colby Gardner, who works with me in Church to Church, when he told his brother and friend, Pastor Willie Pompi, from Zomba, Malawi about Adventures in Missions’ department, Church to Church.

If you aren’t familiar with Church to Church, our vision is to see the body of Christ come together in active unity from all over the world. For the local church here in America, we pray they become aware and respond to the basic needs of our brothers and sisters internationally. And in doing so, our heart is that the international church will encourage the American church when they witness what joy and hope they have found in such extreme circumstances, that you would see new sides of God’s face in this beautiful process.

Colby visited this small but growing church during his World Race in November of 2010. As you have read from the hand of this member in pastor’s church, their faith and trust in Jesus was encouraged from the one-month’s time that Colby and his team spent in Malawi.

His church has grown from a congregation of 36 to a church of 146 (thank the Lord). They have taken Christ’s commandment and are taking the Word to local communities and are planting full Gospel church homes across their own country. They have 29 plants as of February 2012. Pastor Willie and his wife feed and take care of 24 orphans (14 boys, 10 girls), run two households, all the while, Willie works at a hospital for twenty-five dollars a month. Our United States currency goes a really long way in providing for these brothers and sisters of ours across the world. However, church to church isn’t about having your church sponsor a foreign church. In fact, there is no financial commitment when you agree to partner with a church.

We are all about your two congregations forming a meaningful relationship in Christ Jesus. Our true prayer is that you see their need, join in, and see the Kingdom of God come – together. With the growth that this church is experiencing and the church plants they are making, they have a real need and you can take part in God’s work there. As you can see, they need the Word, the Bible – they are hungry for God. They want to read what the Lord has said to affirm what the Lord is speaking to them now.

Will you prayerfully consider making this happen for Pastor Pompi
and his congregation?

How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? Romans 10:14
