We all have hopes, dreams, and things that we want to achieve in our lives. . . Even if they may seem small to some people.

Today Matt and I took our laundry down the street to the local laundry mat to get our clothes washed. Its funny on the race, because it somehow becomes normal to only wash your clothes every couple weeks, HAHA. You learn that its not necessary to change clothes 3 times a day. Anyways, so we were in there dropping off our stuff and this guy walks in the front door. When I look over at him, he has his back turned closing the door and I notice he is wearing a “SURVIVOR” shirt. I say, “Hey! Survivor, I love that show! I have a buff I wear all the time from a few seasons back, ‘Hero’s vs. Villains’.” I then ask him if he watches the show, and as he turns around the front of his shirt reads “CREW”. I immediately freak out. For me its like a celebrity just walked thru the door. This is crazy! I absolutely love that show and here stands a man who stands behind the camera on the scene!

He asks me what my story is, and I tell him that I am traveling the world with a group called, “The World Race”. We serve in 11 countries in 11 months volunteering in different organizations such as orphanages, surfing ministries, etc. I told him we were in our 3rd month and have 8 more to go. He finds that pretty interesting. I told him some other things and we just chatted. It was awesome! I felt like I was a blubbering idiot in someways, but that’s ok! Haha. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, this guys name is Joe.

So anyways, we shake hands, exchange names and that was the end of that. Matt and I walk out the door and I am speechless. What are the chances?! I am in the most southern point of Africa in a podunc laundry mat and I run into this guy! How crazy is that?! As we walk away, I couldn’t help but think, “what if?” What if this is my big chance?! Maybe this guy could put a good word in for me! A lot of the casting nowadays is done thru recruiting from what people say, so maybe this is it! To finally get the shot of a lifetime! I don’t think I have ever wanted something (“worldly”) so bad in my life. We all have dreams and ambitions, and if I am just being honest, one of mine is being on “SURVIVOR”.

As we walk down the street, I became quiet and thought a lot about what just happened. This was a dream come true for me. I just kept thinking about the part in the Bible where it says, “God rewards those who diligently seek Him”. Does that mean that one day I might get on the show… Who knows? I sure don’t. I don’t think it hurts to dream though. I believe God puts those dreams inside of us for a reason. Anything can happen.

For now, “being on Survivor” will stay unchecked on my bucket list and I will just keep wearing my survivor buff everyday and wait for my big break. It will happen one day, and if it doesn’t, it just means that God has something bigger and better planned! I hope this encourages you. Don’t ever stop dreaming! Love y’all.

P.S Jimmy M. and Leslie N. I hope yall get a kick out of this one 😉
