August 18th- David and I arrived in Gainesville, GA for Project Searchlight!

….

Project Searchlight is a “where to go next” program for racers who return from the field and need some debriefing and help on the future and how to fit back in to “real life.” Honestly, one of the best things I ever decided to do and I would highly recommend it to any racer who is returning from the World Race.

I enjoyed Project Searchlight so much and it was a huge blessing getting to meet so many cool folks and have them pour into us. We had incredible worship, and God did some great things in each of our hearts. He spoke to people about the next step in life and kind of where to go from here.

Also, we learned a lot about our “Kingdom Dreams.” A “Kingdom Dream” is something that is in every believer. It’s what you feel is your biggest dream to helping further advance the Gospel to the US of A and all the other nations. Everybody has a dream, but it’s sometimes tough trying to discover how to make those dreams come true. God revealed a lot of things to me during this time and further helped me realize my “Kingdom Dream” for advancing His Gospel. Right now though, I don’t feel like I’m supposed to pursue that immediately. I would love to just jump in feet first, but before that happens, I have some thinking, praying, planning, and more growing to do… I share more about my “Kingdom Dream” later. So, what am I doing until its time to move forward and start building my dream you ask…?

Adventures In Missions, just started a new program that will begin on September 10th called, “GCA” or Center for Global Action.  It will be the very first semester that it has ever taken place, and I will be one of the first to go through the program.

I want to give you a little bit more insight into what CGA will look like exactly…

CGA has a couple different parts to the program. I’ll explain more and it'll help you understand a little bit of what the daily schedule will look like in the program.

Part of the program is designed to give the participants the opportunity to work in the AIM (Adventures In Missions) office. From 9am- 1pm, CGA participants are assigned to a specific department to work along side of the staff to help get things done. You don’t find out where you’ll be placed until a couple weeks into the program, but it could consist of many different areas. i.e. Kingdom Dreams Team, World Race, Church-2-Church, Admissions, Sales, etc.… We’ll each be placed in one of the departments to work each day.

From 2pm- 5pm we will be attending CGA classes. Basically it will consist of an intensive discipleship school on many different Christian topics.

During the time that we are attending CGA, there will also be many opportunities to go on short-term mission trips here in the states and also overseas. Part of the responsibilities of participants will be helping lead and facilitate these trips throughout the year. Personally I’m stoked about that! Then next summer, those still in the program will lead 2-4 month trips.

….

Now, this is where I need your help…

CGA participants are completely dependent on supporters to make this happen. We are all required to raise money to help put us through the program.

So to make this happen, like I said, I need you. I have committed to being part of the program for 1 year at least. We will officially start the program on September 10th, 2012 (just under 2 weeks)! Before beginning the program, I need to have at least $600 in my support account. Monthly, I’m going to need to raise $600 for 12 months. Total that comes to $7,200 for the entire year. When you really break it down, it isn’t that much. However, to make this possible, I need friends, family, churches, etc. to help support me for this year.

If you are interested in helping support me, please let me know! I would greatly appreciate it. There are several ways you can give. For the time being, I’m just going to have checks sent to my home address. Once I get settled in Georgia, I’ll also attach that information.

I absolutely could not do this with each of you being part of this journey. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. If you’re interested in sitting down with me one-on-one to discuss this next chapter, I’d love that, too! Feel free to holler at me (828) 371-8074. Be blessed!

     Love yall,

     Dusty

P.S. One last random detail… I am currently taking online classes at Southwestern Community College while I'm attending CGA. So in the mean time, I'll still be working on my degree while living and working in GA!
