Hola mi amigos!
Just a little FYI… I am NOT a strong speller or writer… or speaker, so if sometimes ( as we say in the mountains) i'm not makin' "a lick of sense" haha… Just go with it anyways… Cause it makes sense in my abstract mind 🙂
Anyways… I know what yall are thinking… "Gosh, Dusty doesn't blog at all. Did he fall of the face of the earth?" LOL… I know I have not posted anything lately, but I promise, as the time gets closer and as I prepare to head out, you will hear from me a lot more.
Well… This is where I am suppose to tell you about what I expect my trip to be like and what I think we will experience out on the field… BUT… truth is… I am going into this next 11 months with NO EXPECTATION except, knowing and trusting that GOD IS GOING TO DO GREAT THINGS! I know that God has a huge purpose in our team going and ministering to the countries we have been assigned and HE has already gone before us to prepare the way… We just gotta be obedient and walk! Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." That is such a comforting verse, because we don't have to worry about what we will face! As long as we are being obedient to the call and to what God says, we can't go wrong! I have been out of the country enough times on missions and to enough places, to know better than to go into this with what I expect to see happen. This way I can only be blown away by what we see on the field and I wont be disappointed. I hope that makes sense haha…
I remember when I was heading to Africa back in October, having all these huge expectations of what Burkina Faso was going to be like… None of it happened… No, God completely rocked my world and taught me to let go of my own wants and my own agenda and let HIM have complete control over all aspects of the trip… Things happened on that trip that I can not explain… All I know is that God is good! That is really what HE is waiting for from all of us each and everyday… Let GO and let GOD! We have to reach that point where its not about us anymore, and truth is, it NEVER WAS ABOUT US. Its not about our wants, our desires, our dreams, etc… ITS ALL ABOUT HIM. "YOUR kingdom come, YOUR will be done!"
So, with that said… I am pretty much open to whatever HE wants to do 🙂 Cause HE is God, and its gonna happen anyways!
There are somethings i'm expecting and that are going to happen that I need to prepare for such as:
being tired
being stretched
being broken
being hungry
being humbled
being willing
being… Well… You get the idea…
I am excited to know what God has in store… For now, as my team and I prepare for this adventure, we just have to pursue Christ with everything we have and be ready to see HIM rock the nations!
Apparently I had Christmas on the brain when I picked the colors for this blog haha…
