Let me start off by saying I don’t actually have 39 days left. I really have 44 days till I get home on August 5th, but since I don’t get internet except on Fridays, I figured I’d post this now. Also, I hope when you read the title you picked up on the fact that it was suppose to sound like Jeff Probst saying the intro to “Survivor.”

39 DAYS… 1 SURVIVOR!
I know, I’m a little obsessed I reckon, but that’s alright. I love the show and sometimes it feels like the race is basically a longer version of Survivor.
The past week has been pretty incredible as far as ministry goes. We’ve had the opportunity to really dive more into the ministry here in Honduras. They’ve split all our teams into groups of two, with three rotations. So one week two teams are here at Zion’s Gate. Another two teams will be working with another Pastor, and then the final two teams will be with another man.

It has been a rough week for all of us health wise. The majority of the group (probably a little over half of our squad) have been sick. I myself haven’t been at the top of my game either. I think a lot of it is due to the fact that we’re 10 months in and our bodies are just whooped. We’ve had 10 months of sleeping on hard floors most months, sharing small spaces with LOTS of people, eating food from 10+ different cultures, water that isn’t always clean, and many other things that probably make it difficult to stay 100% healthy. The race takes its toll on your body that’s for sure… but it’s worth it!
We’ve been pretty blessed as far as not losing folks from the race. We lost one girl month 1 who just didn’t wanna be here. We lost another girl month 7 to some health problems, and then we also lost a girl last month in Guatemala, because her Mother passed away month 1 of the race and she returned home and then came back, but after praying and thinking about it, she felt like it was time to finally go back home to grieve. Understandable for sure. Last week one of our married couples, Chris and Amanda Britton, had to return home because Amanda’s Father isn’t doing well. It was VERY tough watching them leave, but our hearts went with them. Amanda’s Father, Dan, has been incredibly supportive to all of us through this journey, so right now we are praying for them and believing that God will be with their family during this tough time, and praying that God will heal Dan 100%. Please be in prayer for him as well. We’d all really appreciate it. Chris and Amanda, we love and miss y’all a lot!
We really would appreciate y’alls prayers right now for everything, but our health especially. Be in prayer that we all get better soon and are able to finish strong over the next few weeks. We’ll be leaving here June 30th, and then 4 of our teams will spend the last month of the race in Nicaragua, and the other 2 teams are being sent to Panama for their final month due to lack of contacts in Nicaragua. Should be a great final month for our journey!

Love y’all!
P.S. Be in prayer also for “what’s next” in life. We’re all starting to realize that “real life” will begin very soon for all of us and some are still not sure what that’s suppose to look like. Gracias!
