We have safely arrived in Mijas, Spain
and it took us a total of five minutes to realize that we might just
really enjoy our time here. The cobblestone streets, white towns set
up in the mountains, and the Mediterranean Sea in full view provides
the perfect place to revel in God’s absolute beauty. The weather is
quite chilly and rainy, but we have been surprised with a few days
where the sun chooses to shine. We are living with 5 other interns
and another house of nine interns right across the street. We go to
class everyday, and, as an extension of our learning, dinner is
always a big deal. Staff, teachers, and families come over to
fellowship and get to know one another as we sit around the dinner
table and share life together.

We have finished our second week of
classes and have already been challenged, encouraged, and excited
about what God has in store for us. There is something to be said
about passionate people getting together and learning about the Lord
that is inspiring and uplifting. We have been discussing what our
purpose is here on earth, how we find our purpose, and then how to go
live it out in our daily lives.

The quote we began with is “love God
and do what you want.”
Sounds scary, huh? BUT if you really,
really love God, you will do His will for your life. The point is is
that God has called us all to do different things. He has given us
passions and gifts for His purpose, so whatever you are doing, love
God and enjoy what you are doing. This frees a lot of people from
feeling as if to be a good Christian, you have to do missions in
Africa or be a preacher or live in a hut. While all of those are
wonderful things, God has not called us all to do that. We have to
have the rest of the body of Christ.

So all of this to say, we are learning
a lot and having a great time. God has given us this six months to
learn, ask questions, make plans, and be equipped to do His will for
our lives. And yes, we have been to the bush of Africa and we have
been to the bars of Thailand and God did amazing things in those
places, but now He has chosen to bless us here in Mijas. We are so
grateful!!
