“Anyone who loves his father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. Anyone who loves his son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me, and anyone who does not take his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”
Matty 10:37-39
Flying from an american airport to another feels normal, but crossing from domestic to international changes everything. Voices, people, accents begin to change and it rapidly hits you, – culture. To be with a group of people that speak as you do even when traveling to foreign areas can come as a culture shock. However, by yourself, it is a completely different world traveling, speaking, and being immersed in a culture that 99% of the people do not understand anything you say.
“Piano, Piano, Piano” or in english, “Slow, Slow, Slow”.
Slow & Simple.
i am starting to have a new concept of simplicity. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is so simple and in a way, can be wrapped up with, “G-d so loved” or “Dio ha tanto amato”. It does not matter how much of a language i understand or even how much i can speak because G-d and the Holy Spirit are the only thing that can pierce through every language barrier.
i speak, G-d moves.
When it comes down to rock bottom, it really does not matter what i say. Dura in her own understanding and might cannot change anything, but through G-d and His power moving in people’s hearts, can only anything change. It’s humbling to remember it really has nothing to do with my so called great wisdom, understanding, or knowledge because if G-d is not there or actively involved, it is meaningless.
Speaking, moving, or pursuing anything without G-d is like punching your enemy aimlessly in the dark. Not only is it meaningless, but it is useless and tiring.
“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with G-d. All things are possible with G-d.” Mark 10:27
Not through my eloquent speech or knowledge, but with the power of G-d and His moving, people are changed. All i can do is follow in the steps of my beautiful Savior and try to love like He does.
“And now I will show you the most excellent way. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith that can move mountains, but have not loved, I am nothing. If i give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient.
Love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.”
1 Corinthians 13:1-8
